Hello my little doves, it’s The Proserpina here! I’m so excited to be doing my very first blog collaboration with the lovely ladies at Tragic Beautiful! What’s even more exciting is that my very first blog with them is going to be a swatch and review of Jeffree Stars 3 new shades in the Velour Liquid Lipsticks range, Masochist, Dominatrix and Dirty Money!

First things first, I did a quick swatch of each of the shades next to each other on my forearm just so you can get a general idea of each shade.

As you can see they are all super highly pigmented with a matte finish, just as stated on the packaging (which is super cute btw!). All Jeffree Star’s products are vegan friendly and cruelty free!

Now before applying your Jeffree Star lipsticks, it’s highly recommended that you exfoliate your lips. I use LUSH’s Bubblegum lip scrub, all you need is one pinch on your lips, scrub it in with your fingers and then lick it off! It’s so yummy!

I’ll start off by swatching Dirty Money on my lips as this colour was the one I was most sceptical about. It gets its name from the very odd shade of green that resembles the US dollar note! Pretty sweet idea, but does it look good on? The honest answer is yes, it looks pretty damn good on.

Much to my surprise, Dirty Money seemed to adapt itself to my look. It’s a bit of a chameleon colour. It just looked effortlessly good and fitted itself right in! Another great thing I didn’t notice until later was that I only needed to put one swipe on my lips for it to be as pigmented and perfect as it looks in my photo! Other Jeffree Star shades I’ve used have needed to be layered to get that perfect matte look but not Dirty Money, the sass is real in this one.

Okay, onto Dominatrix. A fitting name for this powerful and very sexy, deep brown shade of Velour! It’s been a long wait but Jeffree Star finally released a brown, everyone was waiting and now its come and it hasn’t disappointed!

Again, this shade is highly pigmented, lesser so than Dirty Money, but only needing about 2 applications to get a full, non-stripy lip.

The wonderful thing about these lipsticks is that they can double as liquid eyeliners, which is what I’ve done with my look today. I’ve incorporated Dominatrix into a sexy cat-eye, mixed with some neutral and dark brown shadows along my crease. In true “dominatrix” fashion!

Lastly but not least, Masochist. I was most excited about this colour as it’s such a uniquely beautiful shade of bright pink. I have yet to find a shade of pink that I would feel comfortable wearing, it’s hard to tear myself away from the reds and blacks of the world, but I am certain that Masochist has stolen my heart. Inside the tube the colour almost appears to be a berry pink, but upon application it identifies itself as a stunning fuchsia pink. However, it’s unlike any fuchsia lipstick I’ve seen before.

Much like Dirty Money, it only took one swipe of the brush to achieve this flawless pigmentation. What I love most about Jeffree Star lipsticks is that the applicator is shaped in a way that makes shaping and applying your colours to your lips so easy. With the brush shape and the high pigmentation, it took me less than a minute to get a flawless lip! Totally unheard of, it usually takes me 5-10 minutes to do my lips!

I hope you guys enjoyed this swatch and review for the Tragic Beautiful blog. I cannot wait to do more for you guys, soon!
