My alarm went off this morning, and as I headed to the bathroom to pee, the phone started ringing. I grabbed the phone, then ducked back in the bathroom. It was my grandmother, calling to make sure I was awake. I told her I was, finished peeing, got dressed, and went back to bed for 25 minutes. I was still tired. A few minutes later I was gobbling down a bowl of cereal, and jumping into the car to drive over and pick her up. Then we were on our way.

We went to her doctor’s appointment first, as it has a time limit, obviously. Her doctor was really nice, and he explained everything very well. As soon as we were out of his earshot, she proclaimed that he didn’t tell her a damned thing. She sure spent a lot of time agreeing with him though for it supposably being for naught. After that we went to my bank and the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions. That took about 15 minutes total.

She then decided that she would just keep paying her phone bill because it was due now and it was silly to tell them to turn it off when she owes them money. Knowing she’d been talking about getting it shut down for a couple weeks, I told her we were going in there and she was going to get it taken care of today. We went in, and it took less then five minutes to get it shut off, her bill paid, and to explain to her that she’ll be getting one smaller bill for the time used on the current cycle in a few weeks.

Next was grocery shopping. We went to Vons, and I was kind of shocked (and amused) to see that they carry gefilte fish. For those of you who don’t know what that is, I advise you to look it up. If you’re an adventurous eater you may want to try it, and if you’re not, you might just be grossed out. I sit with the latter group.

We grabbed sandwiches to take home and eat and then headed to the vet’s to pick up her dog’s . She seemed worried that the three cases of dog would not fit in my car with all her groceries. I told her the truck was empty, they’d be plenty of room. As it turned out, they are the little half-size cases, so all three fit in the backseat with all the . Home we went.

I’m still tired, but being out all day was definitely good as it kept me busy and busy means I wasn’t eating everything I came across. I ate half of my sandwich (Subway- sweet onion chicken terriaki with avocados) for lunch and the other half for dinner. A few hours later and I’m a little hungry, but I’m not starved. I might make a small baked potato or something in a bit. So far, today is a good eating day. Okay I lied; Mom just offered me popcorn.

As far as exercise, I’ve done half of my DDR time already, and will do my arms as soon as I finish this entry. After that Mom should be done with the TV and I can do the rest of my DDR for the night. No dog walk tonight because we (Mom and I) had to put up an extension on the shelter we rigged up for the horse and donkey. Now if it rains, hopefully their butts won’t get wet! By the time we finished it was after dark and no one wants to walk through weeds and stickers in the dark with a dog tugging them the whole way.

Today I had planned to take Grandma to the eye doctor and then run errands with her. Last night she swore up and down she could do all her errands after she had her eyes dilated without a problem. I didn’t believe her, but I’m not the one making the plans. I’m just the driver.

This morning I woke up to a text from The Connoisseur asking me if I could sign into her FaceBook and do her farming for her before her crops all went bad. I checked the clock, hopped on the computer, signed in, farmed her farm, and then went to make a quick bite to eat in the ten minutes I had left before I had to get Grandma in the car and on our way to town. Grandma walks in the door, looks at me for a minute, then announces she’ll wait outside and goes back out the door. Um… okay. I wrap my buttered bagel in a paper towel and head out after her.

We’re on our way when I remember that the guy is supposed to be coming to put the cut-off on the A/C unit between one and three. Crap. Her appointment is at 11:30, so give an hour for that, and half an hour to get home and it’s one already. We made a quick stop for sandwiches after the eye doctor’s, and then went home.

As I pulled in, I see a truck in the driveway. The farrier came, even though we called yesterday and canceled the appointment for today. I got back there just as she was finishing up on Libby’s last foot. *sigh* After she tacked on the extra charges for having to catch them herself, and the fact they were both being a pain in the ass, it came out to $15.00 more then it normally would have. Dug the extra out of my purse. Paid the farrier.

Then, as I’m settling down at my desk for a nice relaxing conversation, the phone starts ringing. It’s the guy who’s coming to do the A/C thing, saying he’s about ten miles away. It’s 3:15 now. As soon as I forget he’s coming, the dogs are barking madly. He’s here. I go outside and we chit chat a little, he’s looking at the critters so I introduce himself to the one remaining goat, and the horse and donkey. Guido the goat is happy to see him. The horse tried to bite him numerous times, and the donkey just kind of scowled at him. Drifter then tried to bite me, and I popped him in the nose for his troubles.

There’s not much else to say in regards to all that, save for the A/C guy got the thingy installed and went on his way, right as my mom was getting home from and the grocery store. And me? I’m wishing I had money to cruise down to Fullerton Monday afternoon to see the memorial show for the Horrorpops’ drummer who recently died. The show has a good lineup and tickets (pre-sale) are only $15.00. But the show is a two hour drive from me, one way. Add in there’s always the chance that the show will be sold out after driving all that way… Grrr.

Oh wait. There is more. As of yesterday’s doctor’s appointment, I am officially a cow. I have gained back all but 8 pounds of what I lost over the last year of doing nothing at home. :(

I know, I’ve said that recently, but it is hot. And I’m not happy about it… lol.

Yesterday we had a doe die in the trailer coming home from the breeder’s. She got knocked down and squashed under the others where she suffocated. She was barely alive when she was discovered but she died a few minutes later. Sad because she was pretty much everybody’s favorite.

Today we went to P-dilly and picked up a really, really nice buck- for free. That’s one price, especially coming from a clean, healthy herd, that can’t be beat. They are getting out of goats after a break-up and she remembered that she had said (a few years ago) that if they got rid of him, she’d give him to me. He was a bit bully and didn’t want to load into the trailer (and he tried to take my arm off, I’ll have a real nice bruise to go with Mom’s busted open finger) but aside from being unhandled he doesn’t seem to be mean. Just a little pushy. Nothing like the last Boer buck we brought home that tried to bust out the rear window of the truck while he was being hauled.

I also have a kitten to bottle feed. I didn’t want a kitten to bottle feed. I don’t want to feed another one that I can’t keep. But stupid mother cat keeps moving them and leaving this one out in the hot sun all day… yesterday she put this one in the load of hay we were taking across town and it wasn’t discovered until the hay was being unloaded. Luckily it was discovered before it got squished. Now its in a kennel on my floor waiting for its next meal. This makes Diva Kitty angry.

I haven’t gotten any from M. since the end of April, so I’m not counting on getting any either. Hell, he still owes me money he first said he was getting to me over a month ago. Even if he does get around to paying me sometime this week, I’m still not going to be able to pay bills after this next month. I either need to find a job ASAP or Mom really is going to be paying my bills and I don’t want to have to ask her to do that.

*sigh* Add in that my interview I had on Friday was a total flop, (they asked a ton of technical questions that I had no idea what the answers were so I didn’t do very well at all) and I’m not sure if this week has been good or bad. At least I’ve had people to talk to via text messaging the last few days. That’s always nice. :)

libby.jpgAnd here, the loveliest of them all, is our Libby.

Mom snapped this one too, as apparently Libby wouldn’t back up away from the camera.

I just wish her tiny little toes were visible in this picture- she has the daintiest feet!

And yes, we’re aware she’s a little bit on the plump side…

Anyway, guess I’ll leave you with some substantial text here as well while I’m at it. I weighed myself today and I’m down four pounds form where I was last Wednesday, so that’s a good thing. Of course I’ll be tempted to weigh myself all the time, but that’ll be silly because it’ll never appear to change then. Once a week is good I think.

I’ve also learned that baked potatoes, while filling, have like no freaking calories in them, good to know. Same with Stagg Chili- for one whole can (two servings) there’s less in it then there is in a plain old boring sandwich of pretty much any sort.

Yup, I’m full of nearly useless knowledge today!

kid.jpgMy Mom took this picture, and since I kind of liked it so I stole it.

I have no idea which kid of ours this is, only that it is one of ours.

Anyone want to buy a goat kid? We’ve got plenty of them! Lots and lots for sale and adult too!

Just stop by BillyBobsBoers.com and have a look around. If you don’t see what you want, ask because we might just not have it on the site yet.
