These exceptionally rare crystal skulls are crafted from a distinct variety of Blue Rose Quartz, sourced from Madagascar. This newly discovered material possesses a captivating fusion of rich berry and pink tones with hints of purple and blue throughout its composition, rendering it truly spectacular. The Quartz exhibits a remarkable interplay of pink, deep purple and blue hues, complemented by intricate white quartz patterns that resemble venation-like formations.
The identification of this unique stone as blue rose quartz was established through a thorough examination, ruling out amethyst immediately. While feldspar was suggested, the material's variable transparency differentiates it, and most importantly its fracture characteristics, such as the rounded and conchoidal fractures distinguish it from the block-like or angular cleavage of feldspar. Additionally, there may be intriguing limonite or haematoid-like features, enhancing the stone's extraordinary nature. It's worth noting that only a small quantity of this exceptional material has been mined, and the majority of it has been utilized in larger artistic pieces.
We were very lucky to acquire these two exquisite gemmy skulls carved from this precious Blue Rose Quartz. It is incredibly hard to let them go! These will be a prize in any collection. - The smaller skull weighs 586 grams and is 76mm tall x 61mm wide x 89mm deep.
- The larger brighter skull weighs 864 grams and is 90mm tall x 68mm wide x 97mm deep.
The larger skull is so gemmy! There are already a couple of small rainbows, and there is the potential for more. A skull of pure, joyful love. The smaller skull is just exceptional, You can get lost in the unique colour of this skull.
