I ended up turning in photo number 3 from the ones I posted the other day for my self-portrait, and he liked it, even if somebody said it was way too dark. We were supposed to tell a  story about how our is right now with it, and mine was easy enough. The last how many years have been dark and largely unhappy for me, and I wanted to capture that, as well as the fact that things are finally turning around for me. That’s why I choose an image that was dark and broody, but that I was smiling in looking (okay, so its a fake camera smile) happy. I think it worked out rather well, even though the image wasn’t quite as clear as it could have been due to a slow shutter speed and me trying to hold still for a whole 1/4th of a second- seems like such a short time frame, but apparently its not… lol.

So, for your viewing pleasure, photo number three, again.

I know he doesn’t like the subject to be centered either, but its hard to get something off center when you’re in the bathtub.

Wifey just contacted me this evening to ask if I would be a bridesmaid in her wedding in August 2011. I said yes. Of course the wedding will be up in Oregon, but it’ll be nice to get out of California again for a litle bit. She also asked if I would make the dresses for her bridesmaids and her Maid of Honor. I’ve got plenty of time to do it, so sure, why not? She said the dresses will be tank style tops with knee length hemlines, hopefully versatile enough to be worn at other times as well. The colors will be black and ivy green. Heh. I almost typed “ivory green”- what would that look like? Seafoam?

I also thought of another clothing item to try and sell on . That top I got from Torrid that I wore for Sweetums’ perfect attendence banquet. Its a 2, and definitely too big to really wear again, especially if I lose much more weight. Looks like my list of clothes that will be going up have a Torrid theme. Then again, I do a lot of shpping there, so guess it is to be expected.

I’ve got another 40 minutes to put in in lab tonight and then I’m out of here. Depending on how much time I have ammassed, I may or may not come in tomorrow for an hour or so. Hoping I won’t have to, but if I do, then I do. I told Sweetums I’m all his from the time he gets off of work tonight until he goes back to work Tuesday night. I hope this doesn’t make a liar out of me!

I didn’t win any of the dresses I had bids on on , but I did win the black and grey striped long sleeved t-shirt I bid on. No one bid against me at all, which was great. I paid $11.00 for it including shipping. Not bad at all for a (here it comes…) Torrid item. Of course I’m sad about not winning the red and white polka dotted dress, but it went up really high a good day before the bidding ended, so I wasn’t missing it by just a little; it was a lot.

Tonight I am hoping to get some more of the Day of ther Dead done, maybe I can just about finish the body of the bag. I realized I will have to order more beads as I am not going to have enough to do the strap and everything else, though I should manage to do the fringe with hat I have. Well, I could if I had more accent beads ot finish it off with. Kind of tempted to try coraling on the fringe though and say screw accent beads soempletely. I’ve always liked how coraling looks, but its hard and very slow going.

I got some of the beads I ordered today in the mail, and I also got the make-up I ordered off of . Can’t wait to try out my new colors when I get home, and to get a better look at the beads. Always love getting new stuf!

I’ve decided the next time I go to my mom’s, I’m doing a little more housecleaning. I have some articles of clothing that are nearly new, and I can’t wear there any longer, nor do I plan on getting big enough to wear them again later. One is a fairly cute dress, white with huge pink flowers on it, that I wore once, took in at the sides, and never wore again. I was looking for a picture of it in my album, but the only picture I could find from that day is from the neck up so you can’t see it. I’ll pick the new seams out of it and list it on .

There’s also a white trash prom dress, as I like to call it, that has never been worn. Its leopard print with a black rose lace overlay. Strapless, actually kind of cute, but way too big now and where would I wear it anyway? Add in a really cute skirt that I love and my grey coat I sewed the year before last, and there’s four items of clothing that will never again rest of my body. I love that coat, but it looks worse then a paper bag on me now. That one I will list on Etsy since its handmade. Maybe I can get $50 out of it. That’d be nice.

I got my package from Torrid today in the mail, and remember how I was worried the romper wouldn’t fit since it said to order one size larger then normal because it runs small? It fits fine. Not very pretty, but it fits, and its super comfortable too. That’s pretty much a win in my book. The black dress… eh. It fits. But it has this weird drape to it I don’t like. It’d be great for wearing to a club, if I ever went to clubs. Still though, it was only like $15. so I’m not too disappointed. The scarf? I love the scarf. Its bright and colorful and super cute, and perfect for Fall. Very glad I spent the $4. on it.

I listed the three patterns I made on Etsy tonight as well. Figure if they can make me a couple dollars that’d be great. I’m also thinking about making a caterpillar bracelet again, this time with a proper closure. I have the one I made that turned out really well but its a bitch to put on and take off. Maybe if I’m really ambitious I’ll take a bunch of pictures and make a tutorial for how to make one. I ordered a few new clasps so should have one that will work well for that. So many ideas lately!

I also did some work on my self-portrait assignment tonight. Took three photos that I actually liked, and have been stuck on a dark look for some reason. Here are the possible contenders.

The first one, in color.

Number one again but it B&W.

The other one, also in B&W.

I’m also going to take some more outside once the sun comes up this morning. Pretty much plan to take photos until I get one I love… lol. I love the one I have up on the top right of this page, but I really think I need a better one.

After working on this thing for hours last night, this is how much I have finished. I was a little worried when I started that the image wouldn’t show through very well because of how much I simplified the , but as I got more of it finished it really is showing well.

I am hoping to have the body of the bag finished up by the end of Wednesday night, and be able to get started on the fringe or the strap, now sure which I will do first. Probably the fringe. I will most likely have to order more of the grey and white beads though I have plenty of black ones.
