Spellbinding Specimens, Goth Santa & Coffin Curio: A recap of our time at the Brisbane Oddities & Curiosities Expo! 

This past weekend was nothing short of extraordinary as we unleashed our collection of peculiar treasures upon the eager crowd. With hearts pounding with excitement, we reveled in the opportunity to showcase our wares, transforming the expo into a haven for the alternative at heart. Our Gothic Santa booth stole the spotlight, offering a twist on the traditional holiday spirit that left everyone wondering why they hadn't been sitting on Santa's knee like this before.

Hailed as the premier expo for all things strange & unusual - The Oddities & Curiosities Expo graced it's presence in Australia this year - giving weird and wonderful Australian businesses (like us!) the opportunity to show off their curio in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne!

Hail Santa

In true Tragic style, it wouldn't be an event without us creating a space for goths & ghouls to take their photo! With the help of Australian artist Kendall Perkins, we created the ultimate Xmas set up for the two day expo; gleaming and glittering fairy lights, delicately hand painted artwork, a snow covered christmas tree & a slew of brightly wrapped gifts, and of course our very own - goth Santa.

As the doors flung open at the strike of 10:00am on day one of the Oddities & Curiosities Expo, the crowds poured into the Brisbane Convention Centre with excitement and a thirst for the bizarre. As the stampede of rarity enthusiasts turned the corner to bare witness to gothic Santa in all her glory, ringing her bell loudly while exclaiming to the masses to have a 'Very Merry Crisis' ; an unbudgeable line formed which remained all day for the crowd to have their chance at sitting on Santa's knee, getting a festive photo & letting Santy Claws know exactly what they wanted for Christmas.

Our gratefulness couldn't be exceeded for how many of you wonderful people came to visit us, browse our exoticism, taking a photo with Santa and tagging us online for us to see them! 

Tragic Trinkets & Gothic Bibelot

Santa wasn't the only attraction at the Tragic Beautiful booth! With much excitement, we were able to debut brand new products such as our Pandora Coffin Tissue Box and our Anathema Handbags, along with presenting exclusive Oddities boxes - filled to the brim with ethically sourced bones & specimens!

Love Thy Neighbour

Our time was not only filled with showcasing our dark delights but also enriched by the fantastic camaraderie with our equally extraordinary vendor neighbors, Natureworks and Fox Hollow Taxidermy. Amidst the bustling expo atmosphere, we found a delightful escape in the shared laughter and camaraderie, forging connections with kindred spirits who appreciate the unusual and the unique. We swapped stories, shared jokes, and reveled in the shared passion for the bizarre. As the weekend drew to a close, the excitement lingered, fueled by the anticipation of meeting our newfound friends again at the next expo in the coming year!

A Resounding Success

As the curtains draw on this spellbinding weekend at the Brisbane Oddities & Curiosities Expo, we're left awash with gratitude and joy. Our hearts are brimming with thanks for the phenomenal support from each and every one of you who graced our booth, who dared to revel in the peculiar and whimsical with us. The memories forged with our Gothic Santa and the warmth of your enthusiasm envelops us still!
