The Harvest: Celebrating Autumn in Australia

At this time of year, witches celebrate the harvest, gathering the fruits of their labour and giving thanks to the earth for its abundance. Whether by casting spells, brewing potions, or simply taking time to appreciate the wonder of the natural world, autumn offers countless opportunities to embrace your inner witch and celebrate the magic of the season.

Autumn is a magical time of year, with its changing leaves, crisp air, and the promise of cool winter nights just around the corner. This season is steeped in witchy traditions and folklore, making it the perfect time to embrace your inner witch and celebrate your bountiful harvest.

While we often associate the harvest season with agriculture and crops, it's important to remember that our harvest can be anything we've worked hard for and are grateful for, whether it's a successful project at work, a loving relationship, or personal growth and achievements. It's a time to reflect on our accomplishments and celebrate the abundance in our lives. And what better way to celebrate than with feasting? Sharing food with loved ones is a time-honoured tradition, and it's the perfect way to bring people together and give thanks for all that we have.

Feasting has long been associated with witchcraft, and autumn is the perfect time to indulge in some delicious food and drink to connect with others and appreciate the harvest season. So let's embrace all of our blessings and enjoy the delicious feasts that come with this magical time of year! Setting the table with autumn furniture

If you're hosting a Samhain gathering, a Mabon feast, or simply enjoying the season with your loved ones, creating the perfect autumn aesthetic is paramount. From our spooky tablecloths to whimsical servingware, we have everything you need to set the mood for a magical evening!

Firstly, the right tablecloth is paramount to setting the scene for your autumn feast: The Harvest and The Horse Tablecloth, which showcases all the well known autumn symbols including pumpkins & fallen leaves is perfect for setting the scene at your autumn banquet.

Similarly, another tablecloth paying homage to the autumn season is the Forest Floor tablecloth, with mushrooms, dried leaves & twigs making a feature. This tablecloth is perfect for an outdoors feast, or even adding a touch of fall aesthetic to your altar.

Another great way to embrace the witchy energy of autumn is to incorporate some natural elements into your home décor. Pumpkins, apples, grapes, wheat, dried flowers & leaves are perfect for setting the scene -and adding a touch of autumn into your home or feast.

One of our favourite products for autumn feasting is the Ophelia tray from The Haunted Mansion. Originally developed as a bath tray, we've discovered it can also be the perfect serving board for large feasts to your guests, with plenty of space for all your favourite dishes.

The autumn season is a time for gluttony and overindulgence, with lavish meals and goblets of wine - make sure to protect your table with our coasters! If you want to be matchy matchy with your outdoors setting, we have coasters from the Forest Floor collection from Hedge Witch Cottage, or if you want to celebrate the incoming darkness of winter, our Serpentina coffin coaster set is the perfect touch.
