What colour do I dye over yellow orange hair?

If you hair has not already been pre lightened, you won't achieve the exact colour in the bottle.  Darker, full coverage shades do better over darker hair so keep an eye out for those words on a dye chart-brands like Lime Crime, Manic Panic and La Riche Directions all have shades available that can cover yellow and orange hair.

Does yellow dye fade fast?

This depends on how often you wash your hair and how light your hair is to start with-all semi permanent colour will fade with time so just be sure to take care of it.  Always wash with cold water as this prevents excess colour leeching out of your locks.  Specialised products from brands such as Fanola will also ensure brighter yellow for longer.
