WHAT ARE DIVINATION TOOLS?

Divination tools are objects that help the user find guidance and increase their understanding by communing with a higher plane, spirit guides or even their higher selves. These tools should be cleansed before use to remove any negative energies and bring them in harmony with your own.

Tarot cards have been in popular use as a fortune-telling tool since the 18th century, though they were in more mundane use as early as the 15th century. Pendulums are a weight held at the end of a chain whose movements are interpreted when asked for guidance. This can be done with or without a pendulum mat, which some practitioners prefer in the search for more detailed answers to their questions. Pendulums are often made with crystals, whose inherent properties can enhance the experience depending on one's purpose e.g. the search for love can be assisted by rose quartz. Scrying can be accomplished with multiple different tools. One of the most popular and evocative of the traditional "fortune teller" is the crystal ball. We stock crystal balls of all sizes, usually made with glass, as well as stands so the ball can be taken with you if needed for travel. It's important to note that crystal balls MUST be covered with a cloth when not in use. Black mirror scrying is another alternative to crystal balls, along with seer stones.

Perhaps the most famous, or even infamous. divination tool is the spirit board, otherwise known as a ouija board. You won't necessarily summon evil spirits or demons with the board but great care and respect should be taken when you do decide to use one. A typical spirit board will display every letter of the alphabet, the numbers 1 through 9, the words "yes" and "no" along with the word "goodbye". It will also typically come with a planchette that will be moved by external forces to spell out answers. Spirit boards can be made of a number of materials from cast resin and glass to light wood.
