CAULDRONS FOR RITUALS, SPELLCRAFT AND OTHER WITCHCRAFT NEEDS
From beginners to experts, witches of all levels will find that a good, sturdy cauldron is a must-have in their repertoire. In some forms of Wicca, incorporating aspects of Celtic mythology, the cauldron is associated with the goddess Cerridwen. An essential component of a complete altar for use in modern magickal practices, cauldrons are also an iconic symbol for witches.
At Tragic Beautiful, we offer a wide range of cauldrons to suit every need in small and extra-large sizes, made of aluminium, brass and cast iron and even in bright colours like pink, green, blue, red, purple and silver for colour magic and enhancing your decor scheme.
HOW DO I USE A CAULDRON?
Most often a cauldron is made of cast iron and is used to burn loose incense on a charcoal disc, to make black salt (used in banishing rituals), for mixing herbs, or to burn petitions (paper with words of power or wishes written on them). Take care and use the following steps as a basic beginners guide to burning incense or herbs with a cauldron:
Step 1: Ensure you're working on a fireproof surface. The metal will heat as it burns so ensure you set it on something protective such as an altar tile and an altar cloth.
Step 2: Select a charcoal disc and hold it with a pair of tongs to keep your fingers safe. Light one end with a lighter until it catches-expect to see it spark! Once it catches, place it carefully at the centre of your cauldron.
Step 3: Wait for the surface of the whole tablet to glow, then simply add your incense! A standard tablet usually burns for 15 to 20 minutes and most resin incenses will only need a pinch to product a strong, fragrant smoke.
