To burn resin incense, you only need a pinch to create a lasting and impactful experience. You can burn resin incense on a charcoal disk in a cauldron, in a bowl on your altar as an offering, or even cast it into the fire for more intense rituals.

Steps
Cover your charcoal with a thin layer of ash, just enough to slightly bury it. Then, place the incense resin on the white ash, directly over the hot charcoal.
Set the resin on the white ash, next to the burning charcoal. The proximity to the charcoal will determine the intensity and amount of smoke produced.
Put the resin directly on the hottest part of the charcoal. This will create an immediate plume of smoke and cause the resin to burn rapidly. The essential oils will burn off quickly, leaving the remaining resins to blacken and develop a more caramelized and burnt smell, which some may find unpleasant.
A preferred method is to light only a small section of the charcoal. Place the resin on the part of the charcoal that is not currently burning. As the charcoal gradually heats from one side to the other, it will slowly burn the resin. This method works well for larger chunks of resin that you want to burn slowly for a longer period while still producing a significant amount of smoke. However, be aware that the resin might soak into the charcoal and extinguish it.
