Thyme has a long association with being used for magic. Places where wild thyme grows are supposedly blessed by the fey, and due to this association thyme is often used in work regarding fey.
Thyme is used for its properties of purification. It can be sprinkled or burned to purify a space, and ancient Greeks burned thyme in their temples for consecration (and as an offering). Often used for: cleansing, courage, dreams, banishing negativity, happiness, healing, love, prosperity, preventing nightmares, protection and divination (and as an extension to divination, clairvoyance and psychic development). Sometimes used for: compassion, confidence, working with the astral, moving past grief, meditation, release, and renewal.
A pillow stuffed with thyme dispels nightmares and promotes positive dreams. Thyme was also put into pillows of the sick.
It has ties to beauty. Wearing a sprig of thyme in your hair supposedly makes you more approachable.
