Welcome to Tragic Retrograde - something that started as a fun idea and ended up becoming a thing.  We enjoyed creating such a fun range of products. They had to have retro origins - but with a decent pinch of that special Tragic spice.

Unhappy Meal - Order up... despair never tasted so good.

A twisted take on a retro fast-food classic - every item is served with a wink, a grimace, and a whole lot of fragrance. Each meal comes in a black Unhappy Meal box - with puzzles and games on the back, of course! and contains: 

  • Our tantalising menu (and ingredients)
  • Butcher's Block Burger - A dish best served HOT,  this XL wax melt releases a deep, seductive forbidden cherry aroma. It’s equal parts diner horror special and luxury fragrance moment. Which part of the butcher will you get?
  • Scent Dies (Fries) - Packaged in a retro fry box for maximum nostalgia, these mini soaps look like fries but smell like a ripe, sultry tropical perfume. Scent Dies turns washing your skin into a fast-food fever dream - bright, fruity, and deliciously doomed.
  • Malt Madness - Your moody milkshake for silky skin. This rich body milk is scented with a dreamy blend of milky cream, caramel & sweet fruit that wraps you in a nostalgic malt-shop sweetness with a deliciously melancholic edge.

Our Tragic Unhappy Meals all come with a specially designed and handmade 'Toy". These are XXL versions of our travel roller perfumes, strongly scented & good enough to eat, you will receive one at random, from our five different varieties. (Don't despair if you just need a certain scent - you can purchase extras here if you are fast enough!)

  • Gruesome Grape: A bold, juicy grape scent with retro candy energy and a ghostly twist. Like a grape soda spilled in a haunted diner booth.
  • Crybaby Cola: A candy-cola hit that sparkles with retro diner energy and emo-kid charm. Sweet, fizzy, and impossible to forget.
  • Lamington Lament: Soft cocoa, fluffy sponge, and coconut flakes… all with a sorrowful twist. A nostalgic Aussie treat gone delightfully dark.
  • Spooky Loops: Your favourite haunted breakfast scent—now portable and extra potent. Sweet, fruity, and freakishly fun.
  • Woeful Waffles: Warm, buttery waffle notes dripping with sweet sadness. Perfect for breakfast lovers with beautifully gloomy souls.

All our products are locally made from the best ethically sourced ingredients, and the scent is dialled up to max volume! They are vegan and cruelty-free.

Easy 30 Day Returns


We accept returns within 30 days of your order being shipped to you. We are happy to accept most full priced items back for a refund*, store credit or exchange within 30 days of purchase.


  • *Pre-order items (including shoes), items from discounted orders and sale items are not eligible for a refund and can be returned for an exchange or store credit. Only full priced, non discounted orders are eligible for a refund. 
  • Returns must be lodged through our return portal. If you do not select to use a prepaid label through the portal, please include a note that specifies: full name, order number and/or return number.
    Any returns received outside our portal will be processed as a store credit.
  • Items must be in original condition. No tears, marks, scuffs, animal fur, makeup, or cigarette smells. Shoes must be in original boxes with all packaging. Do not ruin shoe boxes by taping labels to them. We reserve the right to charge a box fee in this instance of $10.00. 
  • International orders of shoes can receive a credit or refund. If you wish to exchange please place an order for the new size and then return the original pair of shoes for a refund. If your order was not eligible for a refund, only credit, we will still refund upon receiving your return if you have purchased an alternate size of that item. Simply order the new size, open a return of a credit, and add a note in with your return stating you have reordered with the new order number included.
  • Items must be returned in as new condition fit for resale.
  • Makeup, intimates, some underwear, piercing jewellery, swimwear, herbs, hair dye or beauty products cannot be returned for health and hygiene reasons.
  • Final Sale Items cannot be returned. These items are clearly labelled on the product page in red lettering so you know you are about to grab an amazing bargain, but you will need to choose carefully!
  • If you have a problem with an item we will always work with you to resolve it fairly. Please read the section below "I got my order and something's wrong". When you have a major problem with a product, you have the right to ask for your choice of a replacement, store credit, or refund.
