Is unicorn dye bad for your hair?

Not at all, if you do things right!  First you need a nice blank slate of pre lightened hair-you can get this done at a salon or at home for cheap with our bleach kits that contain all you need to prepare your canvas.  All of our dyes are gentle on the hair with nourishing ingredients, but different brands will work better on different hair so all you need to do is dive in and have a go.  You should also look after your hair after the colouring is done to ensure you don't damage your locks and keep them hydrated-try our range of After Colour products from Fanola and Crazy Colour.

How do you use unicorn hair dye?

It's super duper easy!  All of our crazy, bright colours are semi permanent-this is because they're totally free of animal products and, unlike permanent dyes, its way less damaging to your tresses.  You also don't need any special prep like with box dye, just pour straight from the bottle-this also means you can keep the rest for touch ups!

It's best to apply the dye to hair that is already bleached to ensure maximum chromatic payoff.  Apply in sections with a brush for precision and thorough coating-you can use one of our super handy and affordable tint brush and bowl sets to do this nice and easily at home.

How long does unicorn hair last?

Like all semi permanent dye, even the brightest rainbow hair will fade with continued washing and time.  To keep your locks vibrant for as long as possible, be sure to extend the time between washes with dry shampoo.  When you do wash, be sure to rinse with cold water to avoid over stripping the product.  Also be sure to use shampoo and conditioner designed for coloured hair, like the ones we have available at an affordable price.
