Purple Hair Colour FAQ

How do I colour my hair purple?

To colour your hair purple at home you simply need to apply the dye to pre-lightened hair at levels 9-10 for the best colour payoff.  It's also a good idea to find whether your skin is warm or cool toned to see if you'd suit a red or blue toned purple best, respectively.  Some of our shades, including Manic Panic's Purple Haze and Plum Passion can even create some lovely subtle purple highlights on dark hair.

How do I maintain bright purple hair?

All bright colours will fade with time and washing, so try to shampoo your hair as infrequently as possible with the help of dry shampoo.  When you do wash your hair, avoid shampoos containting sulfate-they strip your hair of dye as well as its natural oils, which can lead to limp and easily broken strands!  Rinse in water as cold as you can stand to avoid excessive runoff.  You can also use additional products, such as Crazy Colour's Vibrant Purple Shampoo to keep your purple as vivid as you can.
