Spell & Ritual Candles

How do I cast a spell with candles?

Before casting any spell it is of the utmost importance to remember the following:

-Make your intentions clear.  Vagueness is not a conduit for energy, and you must stay focused.  Be specific in what you desire and remain present in the moment at all times throughout.
-Don’t create unrealistic expectations.  Affecting strangers is incredibly difficult as you will need to have an established connection so turning your ex into a toad is, unfortunately, out. 
-Most importantly, trust in your own power!  The results will take time so do not allow your dears and doubts to affect your intention’s journey.  An iron will is fundamental, believe in the success of your spell in order to institute change.

As previously mentioned, you will need candles in the colour of your intention.  Let’s start with a simple love spell.  This spell is designed to strengthen the love you have for yourself so that you may project it into the world to realise your goals. This will require:

• A pink candle for romance or a red candle for the physical, passionate side of love.
• Corresponding herbs and crystals, such as rose quartz and rose buds. This will amplify the spell.
• Anointing oil. This can be as simple as coconut or jojoba oil and can be mixed with essential oils specific for your spell.  Our Passion Ritual Spellcasting Mist is perfect for this.

Step 1: Calm your mind and make yourself comfortable.  Surround yourself with your chosen herbs or crystals, whether you wish to hold them in your hand, cast around you in a circle or place upon on your altar. 

Step 2: Visualise your goal and hold it strongly in your mind. Say it out loud in a simple sentence or as a repetitive chant if you like-this will strengthen your resolve.

Step 3: Anoint your candle.  Dip a finger in oil and run it up and down the length of the candle, stating your goal in your mind or out loud as you go.  Continue this until you feel the candle is charged, this can take up to a few minutes and you may feel warmth or tingling in your fingertips to indicate that it’s ready.

Step 4: Release any remaining tension in your body and take deep breaths.  Begin to visualise your goal as if it’s already occurred-how will you feel?  What will life look like once it’s in place?  Continue this visualisation and your chant until you’re brimming with the positive energy your goal has brought.  At this point, you may light your candle.

Step 5: Focus on the light surrounding the flame, this is the candle’s aura.  Picture that it is expanding to fill the room and then beyond, filling your home, the street and beyond as a beacon to guide your intention.  Keep this in your mind as long as you’re able.  Once you feel your energy waning or that you’re becoming distracted, blow out the candle.

What to I do with leftover candle wax?

There are plenty of ways to reuse candle wax!  This will allow you to reduce waste and even get a little creative. 

-Create a brand-new candle! You can use a teacup from an op shop as a unique gift idea or a plastic mold such as an old yoghurt container that can be cut away if you need it whole.  Melt the wax, fill the mould and insert a wick all the way to the bottom.  Tie the exposed end of the wick to a toothpick or skewer to stop it bending or falling into the wax if needed.  You can customise the candle’s scent with essential oil while the max is melted to make it even more personal.

-Keep the melted wax to lubricate stuck drawers, wheels and other fixings.

-Melt to seal letters with an extra vintage flair.

-Re melt the wax to seal fraying laces.
