Tragic Beautiful is looking for a new Social Media & Marketing Assistant to join our growing team! We are an online alternative fashion & lifestyle retailer based in Logan, on the south side of Brisbane.

We offer a fun, vibrant workplace that is innovative, challenging and above all, driven by creativity and our love of alternative subcultures.

This role would suit someone looking for a career in marketing and social media and who has a passion for alternative fashion, lifestyle, health, and beauty. A knowledge or connection to wicca or witchcraft would also be advantageous.

We are an alternative, independent small business that creates and supplies interesting, unusual products. We ethically run our business and have created several Australian made, ethical product lines and will be bringing out more. We also sell the most beautifully curated selection of alternative clothing, homewares, and more in Australia. You will gain experience managing social media for over half a million followers and fans.

Our community on social media is engaged, vibrant & fun, and we create content for them. We are not ‘advertising to’ our community, we are sharing content they enjoy. You must enjoy this type of work and be 100% genuine and excited by what we do. You must be prepared to be on camera a bit, to build a relationship with our community and create content featuring yourself and other staff in our warehouse, behind the scenes, showing new products, doing tutorials etc.

Remote work from home can be accommodated some of the time if required. A suitable phone with good video capability and software plus a laptop would also be a huge plus.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and create social content such as images, videos, short reels etc for Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok – possibly YouTube/twitter. You would be creating weekly content for all socials using a mixture of content - created by you, pics taken by our in-house photographer, and user generated content you find. Our Tik Tok needs to be properly launched and promoted.
  • Build relationships with our community on social media – engage them in videos, stories and Tik Tok videos. (See companies like Tribe Skincare for an example of effective customer relationship building.)
